Government Announces Public Holiday In April -Details Released In A Statement.
For the purpose of celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, the government has declared Monday, April 24, 2023, a statutory public holiday.
This was said in a statement that Ambrose Dery, the interior minister, signed.
The declaration states that the celebration of Eid will take place on April 22, 2023, on a Saturday. As a result, the President declares Monday, April 24, 2023, a national holiday that will be observed all across the nation.
“However, in view of the fact that 22nd April 2023, falls on a Saturday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance to the Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) declares Monday, 24th April, 2023 as an additional Public Holiday, the statement said.
It further stated that the declared holiday should be observed as such across the nation.
