Winners of the 2024 US Diversity Visa Lottery Are Announced By the US Embassy -Check Out Details
The list of chosen applicants for visas in 2024 has been made public by the US embassy in Ghana.
The embassy clarified that being chosen does not ensure a visa or an interview.
However, applicants can check the organization’s website to see where they stand.
Based on the distribution of available visas in each region and nation, the Department of State randomly selects applicants for Diversity Immigrant Visas (DV) each year.
The American Embassy in Ghana will also increase the cost of nonimmigrant visas starting on May 30, 2023.
B1/B2 visas for business and tourist travel, F visas for international students, J exchange guest visas, and other visa classes that do not call for a petition will all go up from $160 to $185 as a result.
Petition-based nonimmigrants who fall under the (H, L, O, P, Q, and R) categories, on the other hand, will now pay $205 in fees rather than the prior $190.
The decision, which will be implemented at all consulates and embassies of the United States abroad, was made by the Department of State in Washington, D.C., according to the US Embassy.
However, the change will not apply to anybody who apply before May 30 and arrange an interview within 365 days of the date of payment.
“Fees are increasing for new visa applications as of May 30, 2023, only. Applicants who pay the visa fee before May 30, 2023, and schedule an interview within 365 days of the day payment is made are not affected by this change.
“There is no requirement for the interview to actually occur during that 365-day period, applicants must just take the step of scheduling an appointment within 365 days,” myjoyonline quoted the embassy as having said.
