Dr. Ernest Addison, Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BOG) will soon be answering questions in court as an economist has served notice to sue him.

While Speaking at a public forum organised by the opposition NDC at Alisa Hotel on Thursday, Hon. Isaac Adongo said the Governor has been involved in some illegal dealings with the ruling NPP where the Government is granted loans where it is not qualified to access such loans. He said the Governor and Nana Addo government have pushed Ghana to an economic crisis due to that recklessness but no one was ready to take them.

The law maker said he had written to the Governor drawing his attention to the illegalities they are perpetuating to Ghanaians. He said he warned him to be mindful of it because he will go to jail if power changes hands.

Hon. Adongo said he will sue the Governor at appropriate time. Even though he didn’t tell what appropriate time is, he added that he won’t get justice if he sues him now. According to the economist, he sued the Governor in 2018 over a similar illegality and the case was yet to be called four years on.

Hon. Adongo said the budget exposed Ghana’s debt distressing state because the Government of Nana Addo chose to manage propaganda instead of the economy. He said the NDC Government left a promising economy which grew at 8% in 2017. But by 2019, the economy had given signs of distress. Unfortunately, the Government made us believe all was well according to the deputy ranking member of Parliamentary select committee on finance.9bf12e1bedaa49b9a7a889cffbc26202?quality=uhq&format=webp&resize=720 I Will Take The Governor For Bank Of Ghana Governor To Court  -Renowned Economist Serves Notice

The MP added that Covid-19 was not the cause of Ghana’s current state. To him, covid-19 actually rescued the NPP Government more than it harmed Ghanaians.
