Confusion has rocked the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the main contender challenging the current chairman of the party in the constituency has been suspended by the party executives.
In a letter signed by the Constituency Vice Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Kabirou, Mr Dan Lardi Salifu has been suspended for meeting ward executives of the party on his bid to contest as chairman for the NDC in Tarkwa Nsuaem though nominations are yet to be opened for internal elections.
He has also been accused of acquiring an office in the name of the party without prior notice to the Constituency executives.
Mr. Salifu who is also a former Assemblyman has twice contested for the position but has been unsuccessful.
Reports say supporters of the suspended aspirant have threatened to take the party to court should the leadership fail to rescind their decision.
They said the current executives knew they have lost touch with the party foot soldiers and will be voted out in their upcoming constituency elections hence, the decision to suspend Mr Salifu.
A source close to the constituency executives says Mr Danlardi Salifu has been duly informed and will soon be summoned before the disciplinary committee.
