The management of the VIP JEOUN Transport has in less than two weeks since it announced the adjustment of fares for the services they render announced yet again another increment.
This time around. Travelers, especially persons who travel via VIP JEOUN Transport are urged to take note of the new prices which has a 20% increment across board.
The earlier fare adjustment was effective Monday 24th October, 2022 which saw Accra-Kumasi fare jump to GH¢100.
But even before the new prices sink in, customers have now been slapped with another 20% increment with prices now at Ghs120 for the same Accra to Kumasi.
The VIP JEOUN Transport re-adjusted their fares accordingly in line with rising prices of petroleum and other variables associated with Transportation Operations.
Passengers who planned to travel to Kumasi and had a budget of Ghs100 in mind had to adjust their cash and were seen clearly frustrated at the fuel station.
Diesel above GH¢23
The price of diesel shot up last week to GH¢23.49 per litre, according to latest prices advertised by TotalEnergies at the pumps, an increment of almost 40% overnight.
Petrol is selling at GH¢17.99 per litre, while Kerosene is selling at GH¢14.70.
The new prices took effect from Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
The Institute for Energy Security (IES) had predicted that petrol and diesel prices will hit GH¢18 and ¢20 per litre for the November 2022 first pricing window.
The IES, however, noted that, unfortunately, the 1.43% fall in the price of LPG on the world market might not translate into a reduction at the domestic pump, as it may offset the cedi’s depreciation, and rather force the price of the commodity to rise further in the coming days.
Fuel prices were increased twice in the month of October 2022.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday, October 30, 2022, said his administration is working on bringing affordable petroleum to the country to slow the rampant hikes at the pumps.
