Your Meeting Was Illegal -Wulensi NDC Youth Condemn 3 “Oversea” Chiefs For Meddling In Their Internal Election Matters -Full Wild Details Released

Some sections of NDC youth in the Wulensi Constituency are sending serious warnings to some local chiefs in the area who have left their chieftaincy affairs and wading into the internal election matters of NDC.

The youth are accusing the chiefs of Egambo(leader) Kanjokora, and Chaji who organized a meeting to campaign for one candidate and intimidate the other. Those chiefs were present during the meeting to carry out the uncalled for plans.

According to the youth, on May 5,2023 there was an information that a particular meeting was to be held at Kanjokora organized by the chief of Egambo, the youth attended the meeting thinking the chiefs were going to call for calm and advise the youth for peaceful elections but the meeting turned out to be a campaign and open declaration for one of the candidates they were in bed with as planed by their pay masters.

One of the candidates, Hon. Dr. Samuel Nyimakan was not invited to the meeting but his supporters attended the meeting in their numbers thinking it was meant for only the supporters of the candidate. During the meeting, the chief of Egambo,Ubor Mensah Ogambo got up to give warnings that no one has the right to speak in the meeting apart from people they have selected to do so. In the process, the chief of Egambo announced that they have organized the meeting to announce and declare their support for Stanley Yaw Nandaya one of the candidates and for that matter the delegates should support him. This announcement brought relief and joy to the candidate who was seeing sobbing profusiously to the full glare of the public.

This action of chiefs, the supporters of Hon. Dr. Samuel Nyimakan did not allow, they accused the chiefs of organizing illegal, politically motivated and criminal minded meeting, this nearly resulted into a brawl in the meeting.

It is worth noting that, the organizers of the meeting never invited Hon. Dr. Samuel Nyimakan to the meeting but fully invited the other candidate to come for them to throw their support.

As to why the chiefs behaved in such a manner, one will have no option than to believe that such a move was politically motivated and sponsored. The open declaration and campaigning for a candidate constitute “active politics”which goes against the Chieftaincy act of Ghana which prohibits chiefs from active participation in politics.

The youth are therefore calling for action to be taken against those chiefs because their open discriminatory politics is a disgrace to the Chieftaincy institution and the people they rule. The chiefs who govern their communities should not have selected and chosen one candidate to support leaving the other, this is unfair of them.

They ask that if such a plan was born initially, why didn’t they call such a meeting even before the filling took place and only doing it when the campaign reached its peak? The actions of the chiefs are pure political one aimed at disadvantaging and to intimidate the other candidate so as to give Stanley upper hand.
