The Northern Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party led by chairman Samba has unanimously boycotted the president’s arrival at the Tamale airport to proceed his journey to the Savannah Region over disagreement of who becomes the next MMDCE’S.
The president today took a three days tour to the Savannah Region to commission important projects he has given the region.
On his arrival in Airplane in the northern region, the executives were expected to meet and welcome the president before he proceeds to the Savannah Region, but all of them unanimously refused to show up when the plane landed.
According to sources, the executives complained that they did their own nomination of the MMDCEs for the president to endorse but Akufo Addo preferred to have access to all applicants and select who best fit for him instead of their nomination.
This decision did not go well with Dr Samba and his group with which they decided to teach Nana Akufo Addo a lesson.
Note that out of the 16 regions, none submitted their choice for Akufo Addo to accept except the northern region.
However, the regional women organizer Hajia Amama and some of the regional executives were with the president at the Tamale airport and are currently with the president in the Savannah region.
Meanwhile, according one journalist, Basiru Bejejugu, the northern regional Executives led by Chairman Samba took Ghc4,000 and plasma TV sets from the people they nominated.
