Top Management Member of the Black Stars Resigns; GFA Official Confirms -DETAILS
Sheikh Tophic Sienu, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s Division One League Board, has confirmed Samuel Osei Kuffour’s resignation from the Black Stars management committee.
Collins Atta Poku of Kumasi-based Sompa FM previously reported that the legendary defender had tendered his resignation letter as a member of the Black Stars management.
However, after weeks of no official confirmation from either party, Sheikh Tophic Sienu confirmed Samuel Osei Kuffour’s departure while responding to Stephen Appiah’s statement that football is run by footballers.
Sheikh Tophic made that revelation to demonstrate that Stephen Appiah’s claim that the GFA had neglected former Black Stars players was false.
“Until recently, Sammy Kuffuor was a management committee member of the Black Stars, a role he held since 2020. Same Kuffour was a member of the NC that was appointed by FIFA after the Anas exposé. Is Kuffour not an ex-footballer?,” part of Sheikh Tophic’s post sighted on Facebook by GhanaWeb Sports.
Sheikh Tophic Sienu’s full post is below:
“Respected as he is, Stephen appiah is admired and adored by almost all Ghanaians for his flawless role as captain of the Black Stars.
His claim that ex footballers have been sidelined in football cannot be true and I stand to prove that.
