The opposition National Democratic Congress today held her much awaited press conference. It can be recalled that 2 weeks ago the party held one which addressed the procedures for their upcoming elections. today’s own was a bit different and it was targeted at the Chief Justice, Kwesi Anin Yeboah. The NDC have consistently reasoned that the Chief Justice has been biased since he was appointed to his role by President Akufo-Addo.
Addressing the press today at the NDC headquarters, Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the party mentioned that the Judiciary is trying to overstep her boundaries. He explained that there have been several occasions where Justice Anin Yeboah has tried to mediate in matters that are in the reserve of the Legislature. Asiedu Nketia said this flouted the Separation of Powers Principle.
Again the NDC General Secretary alleged that the Chief Justice has failed to empanel judges at the various divisions of the High Court. He explained that it has become the norm that cases are mixed up adjudicated at different court. He pointed that for example cases related to land are sent to other courts.
The NDC in the presser said if care is not taken, Chief Justice Anin Yeboah will end up being the worse ever and called on him to sit up and not act like a puppet to the executive. They called on him to act neutral and allow the rule of law work in Ghana
