Former Governor of Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and two others seeking to contest former President John Dramani Mahama have been asked to forget their dream for now.
According to Archibald Ntiri Acquah, the odds are against them and there is no way any of the other three can emerge victorious ahead of Mahama at the party’s primaries.
The NPP loyalist believes former President John Dramani Mahama and the Asiedu Nketiah have hijacked the NDC party making it difficult for anybody who does not share in their ideas to win any international contest.
Speaking on Ultimate FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Mr. Acquah said utterances of the NDC chairman and recent happenings in the party has confirmed his long-held beliefs after, the Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer Gloria Huze was chastised by some Regional Executives for picking nominations forms for Dr. Kwabena Duffuor in the party’s flagbearersship race, while regional executives who did same where not questioned.
He notes that this is a clear case of the NDC system working to favour Mahama to the detriment of others.
“The NDC has now confirmed to the world they are not democratic as its name suggests. I wonder why they call themselves a democratic party when everything they do does not show that”
“In the NDC if you oppose Asiedu Nketia and Mahama, you are booted out or not given opportunities. Where is Allotey Jacobs? Where is Koku Anyodoho? How come Yaw Boateng Gyan and Solomon Nkansah have all been sidelined? When you don’t support Mahama and his establishment, you are not given opportunities” he said.
“You see what they are doing to Dr. Duffour and his team? The man has a good heart and is ready to support the grassroot but because, he is opposed to Mahama’s leadership, they want to create an unfavorable situation for him in the NDC flagbearership contest”, he added.
