We spend one-third of our lives sleeping, So it should be no surprise that a lot of people die in their sleep.

Many of us have either heard or have seen people who died in their sleep. This means that it is a common health disaster.

#1. Some people die in sleep due to external factors.

In some cases, people die in sleep due to some external factors. For instance, some people die in their sleep as a result of inhaling Carbon monoxide poisoning (a smoke that comes from a generator plant), any serious injury to the body often resulting from violence or an accident can also cause traumatic death in sleep. Homicide and murder can also occur during night sleep. These are external factors that can lead to death at night. These are some of the reasons why some healthy people die in their sleep.

#2. Some people die in sleep due to health factors.

Some sleeping disorders can lead to death. For instance, sleep apnea, snoring, and insomnia increase an individual chance of never waking up. Some health conditions like heart failure, cardiac arrest, lung failure, respiratory arrest, heart attack, arrhythmias, etc., can cause an individual to die in sleep. Every individual should always go to regular check-ups for proper diagnosis and treatment to avoid their lives from being cut short.

 

#3. A sudden movement that stresses the brain.

At night we usually make one sudden movement or the other. Some people wake up too quickly to urinate at night while some wake up suddenly to do one or two things. Sudden body movement can stress the brain causing you to suffer a health condition that leads to sudden death. Rising too quickly at night can weaken the brain which can reduce the blood flow in the heart causing heart failure. To reduce the risk of stressing the brain and the heart, you shouldn’t rise too quickly when you wake up during the night. What is needed of you is to stay on the bed for one minute and a half before standing up to urinate, this way you won’t be stressing the brain and the heart.
