The customers of the branch of the  Ghana Commercial Bank in Bimbilla are complaining of the reduction of banking hours of the only Bank in Bimbilla.
The Banking hours of every Commercial Bank in Ghana is either 4:30pm or 5:00PM but the Commercial Bank in Bimbilla seem to have its own time of operation!. The Northern Region correspondent of the broadcast Ghana.com reports that the Bimbilla  branch of the bank officially closes at 3:00pm but as to what could be their reason for reviewing the banking hours not known to the customers. The management of the bank could not be contacted since the bank was locked as at the time the reporter gets to the premises of the bank.
The correspondent got to the premises of the bank at exactly 3:14pm and the bank was already closed for the day’s work.
Some customers of the bank who didn’t know of the changes were left stranded, some had issues with their ATM cards and the other services to be carried out in the bank but the doors were locked and a noticed “we’re closed ” hanged on the door frame from inside on a transparent glass to the  banking hall. Those customers at the premises had no option than to leave the premises.
One of the customers said, the bank used to closed at 3:30pm during the time curfew hours were at 6:00PM but that has since been lifted for almost a year today and they could not understand the reason for the early closer from work this time around.
The People of Bimbilla are suffering in accessing money from the only bank in the District!.
The  bank now opens at 9:00am and closes at 3:00pm.

It is worth noting that, the GCB in Bimbilla is the only Bank that serves the people of Nanumba North,Nanumba South,Kpandai and Nkwanta South Districts. There is no any other bank in the Nanumba Districts and for that matter, the banking hours should been longer to be able to serve customers who travel from far to transact business. The normal banking hours of  8:30am-5:00pm would have been enough  but that is not what is happening now.
One customer of the bank who spoke under the condition of ananomity said,if there was another bank in the District,he would have closed his account with the GCB bank.
Bimbilla GCB because of the Monopoly they enjoy might be one of the reasons they are doing that to their customers!
BROADCASTGHANA therefore appeal to the management of the Bank, the stakeholders of Bimbilla and the political leadership to look into the issue and resolve it or establish another bank in town to complement or serve as a competitor to the bank in the District in order to serve the customers well.
