The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) is inviting applications from qualified Ghanaians to fill vacant positions in the Local Government Service in Brong Ahafo, Central, Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Volta and Western Regions.

OHLGS 1: Assistant Programmers

Job Purpose: To provide technical advice in the acquisition, development, implementation and deployment of Information Technology systems and resources for business development and improvement.

Accountability: The Assistant Programmer shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and Computer Engineering from a recognized university.

Remuneration: The Assistant Programmer is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.

OHLGS 2: Procurement Officers

Job Purpose: To provide technical advice in the development and implementation of organizational procurement plans within the existing procurement laws and practices of the Local Government Service.

A. Assistant Procurement Officers

Accountability: The Assistant Procurement Officer shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement Management or Logistics and Supply Chain Management from a recognized university.
Remuneration: The Assistant Procurement Officer is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.

B. Procurement Assistants

Accountability: The Procurement Assistant shall report to the Head of Department/Unit

Qualification: Diploma/HND in Purchasing and Supply or its equivalence;

Remuneration: The Senior Procurement Assistant is a Diploma/HND entry position with salary level SSSP 15L and other attractive fringe benefits.

OHLGS 3: Assistant Statisticians

Job Purpose: To provide technical advice and operational support for the implementation of the activities of the Department.

Accountability: The Assistant Statistician shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Demography, Population Studies, Geography, Sociology and Development Planning from a recognized university.

OHLGS 4: Assistant Development Planning Officers

Job purpose: To assist in the preparation and implementation of development policies and projects.

Accountability: The Assistant Development Planning Officer shall report to the Head of
Department/Unit.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Planning, Development Economics, Economics, or relevant discipline.

OHLGS 5: Budget Officers

Job purpose: Undertake preliminary data collection activities for budget management

A. Assistant Budget Analysts

Accountability: The Assistant Budget Analyst shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.

Qualification: Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Finance or Statistics or a relevant discipline
Remuneration: The Assistant Budget Analyst is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.

B. Senior Budget Officers

Accountability: The Senior Budget Officer shall report to the Head of Department/Unit

Qualification: Diploma/HND in Accountancy or Statistics or a relevant discipline
Remuneration: The Senior Budget Officer is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 15L and other attractive fringe benefits.

OHLGS 6: Internal Auditors

Job purpose: To perform audit engagements to ensure that sufficient, reliable and relevant information are obtained to achieve the engagement objective in order to add value to the organisation.

A. Assistant Internal Auditors The Head of Service

Accountability: The Assistant Internal Auditor shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant discipline.
Remuneration: The Assistant Internal Auditor is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.

B. Assistant Internal Auditor Trainees

Accountability: The Assistant Internal Auditor Trainee shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.

Qualification: HND in Accounting or relevant discipline

Remuneration: The Assistant Internal Auditor Trainee is a Diploma/HND entry position with salary level SSSP 15L and other attractive fringe benefits.

OHLGS 7: Administrative Officers

Job Purpose: To provide to provide clerical support to the Local Government Service.

A. Assistant Director IIBs

Accountability: The Assistant Director IIB shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.

Qualification: Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, Development Economics, Human Resource Management, Governance, Social Sciences or relevant discipline;
Remuneration: The Assistant Director IIB is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.

OHLGS 8: Social Development Officers

Job purpose: To implement programmes for communal skills development for maximum social services delivery.

A. Assistant Social Development Officer

Accountability: The Assistant Social Development Officer shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Guidance and Counselling, Psychology or relevant discipline.

Remuneration: The Assistant Social Development Officer is a graduate (first degree) entry position with salary level SSSP 16L and other attractive fringe benefits.

B. Senior Social Development Assistant

Accountability: The Senior Social Development Assistant shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.

Qualification: Diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, Development Studies or its equivalence.

OHLGS 9: Environmental Health Officers

Job Purpose: To provide frontline operational support for Environmental Health service delivery.

Qualification: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or relevant discipline

Environmental Health Officers/Assistants

Accountability: The Environmental Health Officer/Assistant shall report to the Head of Department/Unit.

Qualification: Certificate/Diploma in Environmental Health from a recognized school of hygiene.

Remuneration: The Environmental Health Officer/Assistant is a Certificate/Diploma position with salary level SSSP 11L and 13L respectively and other attractive fringe benefits.
