Mohammed Kudus has a lot of potential – Glenn Hoddle

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle has expressed confidence in Mohammed Kudus’ ability to make a major impact at the club, describing the Ghanaian forward as a player with “a lot of potential.”

Hoddle’s remarks came during the 2025 UEFA Super Cup in Italy on Wednesday night, where Spurs suffered a painful defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham let a 2-0 advantage slip, conceding late goals in the 85th and 94th minutes before losing in a penalty shootout.

Kudus, who started the match for Spurs, proved a constant attacking threat before being substituted in the 79th minute.

The 25-year-old registered the most chances created (3) and the most completed dribbles (2) on the night.

“A lot of my West Ham fans, and I have quite a lot, have said to me, ‘Thank you for taking him, Glenn.’ So I don’t know about that,” Hoddle said on TNT Sports.

“The first year, I thought he was excellent. The second year, they’re telling me he didn’t do so well. But he looks like he’s got a lot of potential, I’ve got to say.”

Kudus joined Spurs this summer from West Ham United in a €63.8 million transfer after two seasons at the London Stadium.

He will be aiming to cement his place as a key figure in Tottenham’s attack this season.
