Swedish-Ghanaian forward Jonah Kusi Asare is stepping closer to his Bayern Munich dream.

The teenage forward has caught attention with his steady rise and is now preparing to challenge for substitute minutes in the upcoming season. Sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed that the club sees him as part of their plans and believes his development is on the right path.

"He's been training with the first team for ten to twelve months and has made really good progress," said Freund of the young striker, who joined in spring 2024. Turning 18 in July, Kusi Asare impressed during preseason, showing both promise and maturity.

Reports had suggested he would move permanently into the senior squad, and his current deal, which runs until 2026, underlines Bayern’s commitment. "Our plan is for him to stay here and fight for his playing time," Freund explained.

Competition remains tough with Harry Kane leading the line. Yet Freund believes that for a young striker, even brief cameos can be decisive.
