We say Brentford will win 2-1 or draw 1-1
The fact that Brentford typically gets off to a strong start in the season and Forest has a hard time getting going makes it possible that betting on Brentford in the double chance market could prove to be profitable.
Including a 2-0 loss at the City Ground towards the end of last season, Nottingham Forest have only won one of their last eight head-to-head matches against Brentford (D3, L4).
Prediction: Under 3 goals
For our second prediction, we will back this game to produce under three goals. All of Forest’s last four games and Brentford’s three of their past four fixtures ended with three or fewer goals. The same number of goals were scored in four of the last five H2Hs.

Match Preview: Nottingham Forest vs Brentford
A disappointing pre-season (D5, L2) and the departure of key players may make Forest fans doubtful about matching or exceeding last season’s seventh-place finish. The departure of Anthony Elanga has weakened their attack, but Nuno Espírito Santo has strengthened the squad by signing Dan Ndoye from Bologna, Igor Jesus from Botafogo, and Morgan Gibbs-White for a new contract. Forest haven’t won their season-opening league game in seven years (D2, L5), so they’ll be looking for any signs of success.
Given the Bees’ transitional period, Brentford could be the perfect opener. After Thomas Frank left for Tottenham, first-team regulars Bryan Mbeumo, Mark Flekken, and Christian Norgaard were sold. The club is among the bookies’ favourites to be relegated, but they went through the pre-season unbeaten, giving them confidence that they can keep their unbeaten streak going in the Premier League opener (W2, D2).
