Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong has revealed that he speaks Twi with his Ghanaian parents.

Despite being born and raised in the Netherlands, Frimpong has maintained strong ties to his Ghanaian heritage.

In a recent interview, Frimpong shared that his parents, who are from Ghana, have taught him the Twi language. "My parents are Ghanaian and every time I speak to them, I speak to them in Twi," he said.

Frimpong also expressed his desire to visit Ghana, despite never having been to the country. "I have not been to Ghana, but I would go," he stated.

Interestingly, Frimpong has opted to play for the Netherlands at the international level, despite his Ghanaian roots.

At the club level, Frimpong has been instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen's success, playing a key role in helping the team win the Bundesliga title last season.

Frimpong's connection to his Ghanaian roots is a testament to the strong cultural ties that exist between the Ghanaian diaspora and their homeland.
