VfL Bochum head coach Dieter Hecking is taking a cautious approach to Myron Boadu's return to action, tempering expectations surrounding the striker's comeback.
Boadu has been sidelined with pubic bone inflammation but has recently resumed team training.
However, Hecking insists that Boadu's match readiness remains uncertain, and he will only be considered for selection when he has reached optimal physical fitness.
"He has to work for it," the coach emphasised. "If I think he can help us physically and in terms of fitness, then he'll be in. He's talented, but fitness is non-negotiable."
Hecking has expressed doubts about Boadu's availability for Bochum's upcoming clash against FC Union Berlin, citing ongoing concerns over the striker's readiness. Instead, the coach appears to be eyeing the post-winter period for Boadu's impactful return.
By prioritizing long-term fitness over short-term results, Hecking is demonstrating his commitment to carefully managing Boadu's fitness and ensuring that the striker returns to action in optimal condition.
